I do not remember exactly when I started to dream about the real possibility of travelling abroad to soak up other cultures and ideas, to expand my professional and personal formation, to grow as a person and reach new horizons; maybe always... although one of the earliest aware memories was in the university period.Involved in these thoughts I saw it clearly, if I wanted to take firm steps in any direction before should take a look inside to know me better and know what I was capable. How? Finding my own limitations, especially in terms of study and work capacity. (*)
The search for these limitations involves inherently finding yourself and get to know each other better, as when an engine is tested in a test bench to define its characteristics and parameters. Every time we test our limits, we increase the knowledge about our characteristics as individuals. In this regard, comes to my head those Portuguese Cartographers and Navigators who came to define the map of african continent by means of incursions. The incursions are the quest of our limits and the map is the self-knowledge acquired by the results.
In this happen, is when for the first time the phrase "the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle" ceased to be a simple sentence and became a practice in my life.
(*) It is amazing what capable is a person when has motivation and zest, not to mention if furthermore this person has anger contained by vicissitudes of the past. Anger controlled and focused can be for a person like nitrous oxide N2O for a car engine, a powerful revulsive.
